Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has charged the new Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, to urgently reunite the party and steer it toward stability and renewed confidence.

Fayose described the PDP as being “in dire need of a new direction,” stressing that Abdulrahman must act swiftly to restore peace and credibility within the ranks.

“I congratulate the new chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman. I urge him to unite the party and restore confidence in its members,” Fayose said in a statement.

He further called on the new chairman to tackle what he termed “injustice and irregularities” within the party, particularly in states such as Ekiti, urging him to uphold the party’s constitution and court rulings.

“Most importantly, he should look into the shenanigans and injustice done in States like Ekiti and others with a view to correcting them in accordance with the party constitution and existing court pronouncements,” the former governor added.

Fayose also advised Abdulrahman to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure a transparent National Convention that would produce a new National Working Committee (NWC).

“He should be a team player and ensure the emergence of a new NWC through a valid National Convention, which should be done immediately after outstanding congresses are held in states and zones, and those done against court judgments are revisited,” he said.

Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, the Sadaunan Takushara, assumed office as Acting National Chairman following the suspension of Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum.
