The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, on Monday, 24th November 2025, embarked on a strategic community engagement tour of the Durumi Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp and the Mpape community. The visit is part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to deepen community policing and strengthen public trust in security operations across Abuja.

During the engagements, residents of both communities commended the improved police visibility and enhanced operational presence being recorded in their areas. They acknowledged the Command’s increased responsiveness to emerging threats while outlining key areas where additional support is still needed.

CP Dantawaye reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to providing professional, accountable, and community-focused policing. He stressed that lasting security can only be achieved through collaboration, mutual trust, and continuous communication between the police and the public.

He encouraged residents to maintain close partnership with the police and share credible information that can help prevent crime and promote peaceful coexistence.

The Commissioner also directed the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) of Durumi and Mpape to sustain the confidence their communities have shown in them by improving service delivery and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Residents were urged to report suspicious activities or threats through the Command’s emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08068587311.
