FILMMAKER ZIK ZULU EXPLAINS HOW ACTOR SAINT OBI’S UNHAPPY MARRIAGE AND INABILITY TO SEE HIS CHILDREN CONTRIBUTED TO HIS PREMATURE DEMISE.

Obinna Nwafor, often known as Saint Obi, passed away on May 7, 2023, and filmmaker Zik Zulu Okafor has captured his tragic final moments in writing.

In a piece published on Tuesday, May 18, Zik reported that the actor had given up acting as soon as he wed Lydia, a senior executive at telecom company MTN.

He stated, “At best, their marriage was a dramatization of love. That was swift. He seldom ever mentioned finding a wife to us. The marriage then took place. None of us, including his closest friends who endured the furnace with him to reach the pinnacle of his Nollywood career, were invited.

The Saint would have three lovely children as a blessing. However, not a single time did he bring his Nollywood pals to his birthday or christening. More tragically, though, is the reality that Obinna’s marriage separated him from Nollywood as well as his friends.
