Four Fuel Vessels Unload 123.4 Million Litres of Petrol at Nigerian Seaports

Between Friday, October 18, and Sunday, October 20, four vessels carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, docked at seaports along Nigeria’s borders. Findings  revealed that these vessels delivered about 123.4 million litres of petrol to enhance the country’s fuel supply.

Fuel dealers had noted that the output from the Lekki-based refinery was not yet enough to meet the nation’s growing demand for petrol.

The first vessel, carrying 35,000 metric tonnes of PMS, arrived at the ASPM jetty terminal on Friday, October 18, at 10:13 a.m. Later that afternoon, at 3:37 p.m., a second vessel unloaded 37,000 metric tonnes of fuel, also at the ASPM jetty.

By 3:59 p.m. the same day, a third vessel with 10,000 metric tonnes of PMS arrived, with Peak Shipping serving as its agent. On Sunday morning at 8:02 a.m., a fourth vessel carrying 10,000 metric tonnes docked at the Eco Marine terminal in Calabar.

In total, the four vessels brought 92,000 metric tonnes of fuel to Nigerian shores, helping to stabilize the national fuel supply.
