Four members of the House of Representatives from Rivers State have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), intensifying the ongoing political reshuffle in the state.

The lawmakers’ defection comes barely one week after Governor Siminalayi Fubara joined the ruling party, a move that has continued to redraw Rivers State’s political map.

Those who switched allegiance are Manuchim Umezuruike, representing Port Harcourt I Federal Constituency; Boniface Emerengwa of Ikwerre/Emuoha Federal Constituency; Awake-Inombek Abiante, who represents Andoni/Opobo Federal Constituency; and Boma Goodhead, the lawmaker for Asari-Toru Federal Constituency.

The latest development underscores a widening realignment among key political actors in Rivers State, signaling shifting loyalties at both state and federal levels as the APC consolidates its influence.
