Bedbugs are on the rise in France, where they have infested houses and public spaces, especially in the nation’s capital, Paris.
Pests are infesting houses, public transportation, and other public areas as they expand throughout the European nation. The bedbugs have been found in Paris on buses, high-speed trains, theaters, hospitals, and at Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Eight months remain until the 2024 Summer Olympics, which are scheduled to take place in Paris.
As France gears forward to host the Olympic and Paralympic games in 2024, the deputy mayor of the nation’s capital, Emmanuel Gregoire, reportedly wrote to Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne this week, “The state urgently needs to put an action plan in place against this scourge.”
The report also stated that the problem will be discussed with transport providers next week, as stated over the weekend by Transport Minister Clement Beaune.
