Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has debunked allegations that he is sidelining members of the State House of Assembly or loyalists of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, insisting that no stakeholder has been excluded from his administration.
Speaking in Ahoada West during the commissioning of the Ahoada–Omoku Road extension, Fubara dismissed reports suggesting he had shut out some political actors, describing them as “completely false.”
The governor clarified that his recent visit to President Bola Tinubu was strictly in the interest of the state. “There is this insinuation going around. I went to see the President a few days ago, but it was purely for state interest. I have no disagreement with members of the National Assembly or with our state lawmakers,” he said.
Fubara stressed that he had made several attempts to engage the lawmakers and was only awaiting party leaders to convene the reconciliation meeting earlier agreed upon. “It was agreed that the minister, our leader, would arrange the meeting. Up till now, it has not been fixed,” he added.
He maintained that claims accusing him of refusing to meet the lawmakers were untrue, insisting he has no reason to exclude any political stakeholder.
