There is assurance of their safety while they serve their country anywhere in Bauchi State for the required one-year exercise for the 1,250 potential Corps members.
The promise was made on Tuesday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, in the state’s Ganjuwa Local Government Area, during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2022 Batch C Stream II Corps members by the state governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir.
Bala Mohammed gave the Corps soldiers additional reassurance by saying that because Bauchi is their home away from home, they should feel free to engage with and assimilate into the local population.
The Governor, who was represented by Sen. Baba Tela, his deputy, urged the Corps members to take advantage of the welcoming atmosphere to learn more about the citizens of the nation.
Let me guarantee you that Bauchi State is your home away from home, he said. You can see for yourself that our people are hospitable, amiable, and kind.
I urge you to take advantage of this welcoming, pleasant, and accommodating environment to obtain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the people of our wonderful country,” he continued. You do have the chance to improve your life and experiences at this point.
His administration was determined to work together in order to secure the success of the program in the state since, in his opinion, the people of the state understood and valued the NYSC’s goals and guiding principles.
The governor pushed the Corps members to take the initiative and promote the path of national progress and transformation, but he also urged them to demonstrate the Nation’s confidence in them.
In her previous remarks, the acting director general of NYSC, Mrs. Christy Uba, praised the Corps members’ patriotic temperament and their willingness to take part in the orientation exercise.
The DG advised them that the exercise is a way to give them opportunities to realize their potential and achieve individual accomplishments, both while and after service. He was represented by the State Coordinator of the Scheme, Alhaji Namadi Abubakar.
“I enjoin you to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to engage in all the camp activities,” the Acting DG continued.
She said, “This will not only provide you the chance to have a deeper understanding of the nation, but it will also establish the culture of cooperating in an environment characterized by friendliness, peace, harmony, and a common vision of a thriving and wealthy Nigeria.
