According to reports, the South-East Governors Forum has stated that Nnamdi Kanu, the imprisoned leader of IPOB, cannot be connected to the violent crimes and escalating insecurity in the area.
The governors stressed that criminal groups, not protesters, were to blame for the violent crimes in the area during a meeting on August 10 in Enugu.
Alex Otti (Abia), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo (Anambra), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Dr. Peter Mbah (Enugu), and Senator Hope Uzodimma (Imo) are the governors who make up the regional South-East Governors’ Forum.
In conjunction with the F.G. and other stakeholders, the forum has firmly committed to tackle insecurity in the region both individually and collectively, according to governor Hope Uzodinma, the forum’s chairman.
We want to make it absolutely clear that the people who are causing the insecurity in our region and those who support them are criminals and shouldn’t be taken seriously as real agitators.
