The Haven360 Foundation has deepened its commitment to justice reform and humane corrections following a courtesy visit to the newly posted Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), Adindu Uzonwanne, at the Maximum Custodial Centre, Port Harcourt.
The delegation, led by the President of the Foundation, included the Chief Operating Officer II, the Coordinator of the Haven360 Port Harcourt Chapter, the Director of Outreach, and Administrative Officers I and II. They were warmly received by the Deputy Controller, who expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed his support for progressive, rights-based correctional practices.
Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between Haven360 Foundation and the Nigerian Correctional Service, with emphasis on justice delivery, rehabilitation of inmates, and the protection of the dignity and rights of persons in custody. Both parties explored practical strategies for sustaining partnerships that promote humane treatment and reintegration-focused correctional systems.
DCC Uzonwanne assured the Foundation of his readiness to sustain and expand existing cooperation, pledging institutional support for Haven360’s initiatives within the Maximum Custodial Centre.
The visit ended on a strong note, with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to building a fairer, more humane correctional system and advancing justice-driven social impact.
