The member representing Ndokwa East/Ndokwa West/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, has expressed satisfaction over the success of his recent medical outreach program, describing it as the “best way to go” in addressing the healthcare challenges confronting his people.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, November 12, the lawmaker said the initiative, which provided free consultations, surgeries, and medications to hundreds of residents across rural communities, was long overdue.

“Health is wealth,” Ezechi stated. “Many of our people can hardly afford healthcare. The turnout and positive feedback from the outreach show how much our communities are in dire need of medical attention.”

He promised that similar programs would continue to ensure the three local governments in his constituency receive adequate medical support. “A lot of our elderly citizens don’t have the means to cater for their health. Taking medical services to their doorsteps has made a real difference. I’m glad they are happy,” he added.

The outreach, conducted across Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, and Ukwuani, served thousands of residents, offering much-needed relief to those unable to afford hospital visits. “The people are happy; this is the best way to reach them,” Ezechi affirmed.

Beyond healthcare, Ezechi announced plans to expand development initiatives in his constituency, focusing on electricity, education, and youth empowerment. He also praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration for fostering growth through the establishment of a new federal university and an industrial park in the region.

Describing the industrial park and quality free trade zone as “a great opportunity,” Ezechi noted that the projects would engage between 5,000 and 6,000 youths. “Multinational companies, beyond the oil and gas sector, are already collaborating with the state government to create jobs for our people,” he said.

He highlighted Ndokwa’s rich natural resources and urged investors to explore opportunities in the constituency, assuring them of a peaceful and business-friendly environment. “Our governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is providing the enabling environment for businesses to thrive. Ndokwa remains one of the most peaceful areas in Nigeria—an ideal ground for investment,” he stressed.

The lawmaker also called on the local council to ensure the proper allocation and operation of the newly built market in Kwale. “The market belongs to the government, not a single community. It must serve the public fairly,” he cautioned.

Ezechi further reiterated his commitment to transparency in governance, referencing a motion he sponsored urging a probe into irregularities at NNPC Limited. “We make laws and oversee their implementation. Accountability is non-negotiable,” he said.

On his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ezechi clarified that it was a collective and strategic move aimed at aligning with a government focused on development. “It’s not about politics; it’s about progress. The PDP’s internal crisis hindered growth, and we can’t afford stagnation. I believe in Delta’s future under a peaceful and progressive atmosphere,” he concluded.
