On February 3, 2023, the state traffic office of the Oyo State police saw a second baptism by fire. Eyewitnesses who talked to THE PREMEIR NEWS claimed that angry mobs set fire to the police station.

The fire was put out, but not before properties were lost.

 

According to sources, this is a result of the recent fuel and currency shortages that Nigerians have experienced the mobs felt the police were ignorant and felt relived. THE PREMIER NEWS first reported that Nigeria has imposed a deadline for all old naira notes to be returned to the banks by February 10 or risk having their value voided.

 

In recordings that THE PREMIER NEWS has seen, some people claim to be buying petrol for as much as 750 per liter, and protests have erupted around the country.

 

There have been numerous protests, hardships, and problems leading up to the general Nigerian presidential election. Over the months, numerous police stations have also been burned. The poll for the general election is less than three weeks away.
