ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, stated in a statement on Tuesday that the assignment is a step toward the Police Force’s intelligence department’s expansion.
The announcement also stated that, in keeping with his vision statement, the posting is based on the IGP’s fervor to strengthen and expand the Intelligence Department’s efficacy at every level of the Force as a solution to the nation’s high crime rate.
In the announcement, Adejobi remembered that the IGP had reactivated the Presidential sanction to elevate the Force Intelligence Bureau to the rank of Department, and that DIG Habu Sanni had been appointed as the new Department of Force Intelligence’s chief intelligence officer.
However, the newly appointed Senior Officers have been given a mission by the IGP to use all intelligence-based resources to combat crime and criminality within their respective purviews.
He has also tasked them with solidifying their expertise and using their extensive knowledge to bolster the Force’s already-existing intelligence architecture while doing their tasks.
