Babatunji Wusu –

Forty (40) Senior Police Officers have been authorized for posting and redeployment by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.

The senior officers included 26 Commissioners of Police and 14 Assistant Inspectors General of Police assigned to various Commands and Formations across the nation, according to a statement released by the Force Spokesperson on Wednesday, Muyiwa Adejobi.

According to the statement, the posting and redeployment are effective immediately and are in keeping with the IGP’s mandate to have a police force that is people-friendly, rule of law compliant, professionally competent, and service-driven.

It further stated that the senior police officers’ redeployment is in line with their recent promotion to higher ranks and their new status.

As a result, Egbetokun asked the recently appointed or redeployed officers to cooperate with the Force strategy and back the government’s goals for the nation’s socio-political development and economic recovery.
