The Ngor Okpala Local Government Area’s residents and traditional ruler, Eze Fred Nwachukwu, have been warned by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) not to ever allow Ebubeagu operatives into local government or suffer the repercussions.
In a statement released by the group’s publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, it was claimed that Ebubeagu operatives had been working with security personnel and terror herdsmen in Imo State to assault, kill, and burn down towns.
“We are keeping an eye on whoever is planning to deploy and set up the Ebubeagu security office in the former post office in Umuneke. By thinking about it or giving in to pressure from whatever source, the people of Umuneke and Ngor Okpala Traditional Council are digging their own graves.
“Before the people of Ngor Okpala accept the deployment of the Ebubeagu militia in their areas, they ought to visit the local governments in the provinces of Orlu and Okigwe and learn what the people there are dealing with.
“Umuneke and the entire Ngor Okpala population must oppose the evil plans or they will suffer the repercussions, which include their people being killed, their homes being burned down, and their people being displaced.
IPB is advising Eze. If Ebubeagu group is present in Umuneke Ngor or elsewhere in Ngor Okpala LGA, Fred Nwachukwu should not claim that he did not advise them to stay away lest they dance to the music that ESN and IPOB operatives will play for him and his allies. Since Ebubeagu militias are state-sponsored terrorists targeting our people, nobody should hold IPOB responsible for taking any action, the group said.
