A High Court in Bauchi State has convicted Musa Hamza, age 23, to death by hanging for murdering his friend as part of a ritualistic money-making scheme.
The defendant, who was apprehended on December 21, 2020, was found guilty of killing Adamu Ibrahim, a 17-year-old teenager, in the state’s Alkaleri LGA. He chopped the dead man’s neck after killing him, removed his two eyes, and placed them in a bottle.
He also interred his corpse and head in several places. Before the court at the commencement of the trial, the suspect initially rejected the charge against him but later accepted it. He admitted that a ritualist had asked him to participate in the eyes-for-money ritual.
He was found guilty of the crime he was accused with, and the judge, Faruq Umar Sarki, sentenced him to death by hanging.
