In Kaura LG of Kaduna State, gunmen have slain Victoria Chintex, the female head of the Labour Party (LP).
Edward Buju, the LP’s publicity secretary for the southern Kaduna senatorial zone, made this revelation in a statement on Tuesday.
Buju claims that she was shot by gunmen who broke into her Kaura home on Monday and died as a result.
Her husband is currently being treated at a hospital after allegedly suffering gunshot wounds as well.
“The Southern Kaduna (Zone 3) Labour Party mourns the untimely passing of our mother and sister, Mrs. Victoria Chintex, women leader, Kaura local government area, who was slain yesterday (Monday) by some unknown gunmen in her residence in Kaura,” the statement says.
“Industrious, hardworking, and a loyal party leader,” was how Buju described the deceased.

He urged LP members throughout the state to pray for the peace of her soul at all levels.
Furthermore, the Zone 3 Labour Party will offer support to her family as we wait for the family’s plans for the burial, according to Buju.
We urge the residents of Kaura LGA to uphold the law because the Lord will avenge them, on behalf of our presidential candidate Peter Obi, our governor-elect for Kaduna state, Jonathan Asake, and our senatorial candidate for that zone, Mike Auta.
Mr. Arabambi Abayomi, the party’s national publicity secretary, also confirmed the occurrence.
When speaking with Vanguard over the phone, Arabambi said that the party will make sure to call the police in to look into the unpleasant occurrence.
