IN LAGOS, A 20-YEAR-OLD GUY WAS KILLED BY HIS NEIGHBOR’S TANK.

On Saturday, June 17, 2023, an admission applicant named Jamal Nureni died while sleeping when a water tank belonging to a neighbor collapsed off its stand and cr@shed into his bedroom, crushing his head in the process.

The event occurred on Alhaji Kazeem Street in Lagos’s Ikotun-Egbe neighborhood, where Jamal, 20, resided with his grandmother, Alhaja Yemisi Odejinmi.

“It’s a fence that separates my house from my neighbors’. I’ve lived here for nearly 40 years. When they pump water and their tank is full, the water spills into my compound.

I talked to them multiple times, but they didn’t change, so I decided to let go and always sweep the water because we’re all from the same town (Abeokuta).

Around 6.30 a.m., I was in the restroom when I heard a tremendous noise. I had no idea it was in my room. The tank dropped from our neighbor’s compound and landed in my grandson’s chamber. It shattered his skull.
