Tunji Wusu –

Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, governor of the state of Bauchi, has promised that elections for local government councils will take place within the next six months.

The guarantee was made by the Governor on Thursday at the Government House during a meeting with former council members who served the state.

The meeting, according to the Governor, became important to thank those who had lately served and displayed excellence while doing so, ensuring the PDP’s success in the general elections of 2023.

The Governor said that after dissolving them lately and taking into account the multiple beneficial roles they played in distributing democratic dividends to the grassroots population, he had called them to the meeting.

Bala Mohammed reassured them that all of their entitlements will be paid to them very soon after being calculated by the appropriate agencies and advised them to get ready for the next council elections in the following six months.

He informed them that they had joined his political organization and will play a crucial part in his political career going forward under the banner of the Kaura Movement, which is rapidly growing in popularity across the nation.

Bala Mohammed informed them that some of them will receive political jobs very soon while others may be fortunate enough to be reelected during the elections and expressed his thanks for the responsibilities they played as his Representatives at the grassroots while serving.

The former Councillor of Dan’iya Ward in the Bauchi LGA, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Zango, responded on behalf of the former Councillors in the 20 LGCs and thanked the Governor for considering them deserving of an invitation to a meeting at the Government House.

He claimed that all 323 of the former council members were with the governor and would help him in his efforts to improve and develop Bauchi State.

Musa Ibrahim also praised the governor for promising to pay them all of their entitlements, including any outstanding wages, as soon as possible, saying that this would only strengthen their desire to continue to be politically relevant among their constituents.
