JIGAWA: PDP CHIEF, SUPPORTERS TURN AGAINST APC

Talba Diginsa, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in Jigawa State’s Birniwa Local Government Area, and his followers have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power.
Diginsa noted that the executive members of the PDP in the council, together with 360 members, joined the APC, blaming the defection on a lack of focus and inadequate leadership in the state.

He added, “We decided to dump PDP despite our positions in the party due to the wonderful leadership and commitment of the present Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Namadi, within just six months he spent in office.

“We are sure Governor Mallam Umar Namadi will succeed in governing the state by looking at his 12 points agenda.”

Aminu Sani Gumel, the chairman of the Jigawa State APC, stated the party’s willingness to accept everyone who contributes to its growth after the defectors were received at Kwanar Dole.
Gumel promised cooperation to the newcomers, promising to cooperate in order to make the party a success.
