Babatunji Wusu –
Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for president in the election scheduled for February 25, 2023, has spoken out over the Supreme Court’s decision.
Remember how the Supreme Court declared that All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu would win the 2023 race?
The Supreme Court upheld Tinubu’s victory as declared by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) in a previous decision.
According to what Naija News is told, the Supreme Court denied Atiku and Peter Obi, the leader of the Labour Party (LP), their appeal.
Speaking about the Supreme Court’s decision on Monday, Atiku claimed that the result of the lawsuit brought against the election indicates that “all is not well.”
In his remarks at a global press conference, Atiku stated that Nigeria is facing more significant issues than a simple presidential election.
He said that his data demonstrates that INEC broke the electoral legislation and protocol in order to appoint Tinubu as president.
“The Supreme Court outcome, even though final, shows that all is not well,” Atiku declared.
He said that Musa Dattijo Muhammad, a retired justice, had just provided an update on the state of the judiciary.
Atiku claimed that democracy cannot flourish when there is a conflict between the court and INEC.
