Babatunji Wusu –

In order to have a memorial service for one of their deceased members, Dinebari Loolo (who once represented Khana Constituency 2), the Martins Amaewhule-led faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly was barred from entering the State Assembly premises on Thursday.

The group devoted to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike was kept out of the premises by agents of the Rivers State Police Command.

It was reported that police officers who had already conducted inspections in the vicinity halted the legislators on Thursday when they tried to enter the assembly building.

The Rivers State House of Assembly compound is reportedly under increased protection, with around 15 patrol vans, other vehicles, and armed police officers nearby, according to Daily Post.

Remember that the Amaewhule-led faction of the State Assembly has been gathering at the compound despite a court order prohibiting both factions from convening until the conclusion of the case brought by factional speaker and former Leader of the House Edison Ehie.
