JUST IN: PDP GOVERNORS PRESENT AT START OF MEETING WITH WIKE

Arriving for their scheduled meeting with Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister NyesomWike are governors elected on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform.

The PDP Governors’ Forum chairman, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, is in charge of the governors’ delegation.

Finding a peaceful resolution to the political unrest roiling Rivers State is the main goal of the conference, which has given rise to rumors of discord between Wike and current governor Siminalayi Fubara.

At the time of reporting, the following governors were present: Governors Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Kefas Agbu (Taraba), Caleb Muftwang (Plateau), and Bala Mohammed (Bauchi).

No sooner had the team entered Wike’s office in Abuja than they entered a meeting behind closed doors.

PDP National Leadership Issues New Directive in Fubara v. Wike
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national leadership has commanded all parties involved in the crisis that is raging in Rivers State to put down their swords and let peace rule.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) declared in a statement on Tuesday that the party’s internal conflict resolution system had been activated.

The party’s leadership urged the party’s supporters in Rivers State to unite and concentrate on governance, promising to resolve any points of contention.
