Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has reacted to the viral “Falle Daya” (one term) slogan circulating against his administration, declaring that his political journey will extend beyond a single tenure.

Speaking in a video message, Yusuf clarified that while his first term would be completed under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), he intends to pursue a second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Actually, it is only one term in the NNPP party. We will do the second term in the APC,” the governor stated.

He also dismissed the prospects of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting the party would not secure electoral victory.

“As for the ADC party that they have returned to, it will not even do one term, not ever,” he added.

The governor’s remarks come amid ongoing political realignments in Kano following his recent defection to the APC. Yusuf had earlier left the NNPP, citing “deepening internal crises” and “prolonged leadership disputes” within the party.

His move also signals a widening rift with his former political ally and mentor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, under whose influence he rose politically.

Announcing his defection, Yusuf maintained that the decision was taken in the best interest of the people of Kano State.

The development has further intensified political discourse in the state ahead of future electoral contests, as parties reposition and alliances continue to shift.
