Kun Khalifat FC goalkeeper Chijioke Ejiogu has appealed to the club’s supporters to keep the faith as the Owerri-based team battles relegation in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Currently sitting 18th on the NPFL table with 32 points from 29 matches, Kun Khalifat FC face a crucial final stretch in the league. Despite the relegation scare, the team has shown resilience, suffering only one defeat in their last five matches.
Ejiogu expressed gratitude for the fans’ support during recent games, saying, “Imolites came out this weekend and we felt their support. I just want to say thank you for being there throughout the game. We want you to continue to support us throughout the season.”
The goalkeeper emphasized that continued fan backing will be vital as Kun Khalifat FC prepare to face Bendel Insurance in their matchday 30 fixture scheduled for this weekend in Benin City.
With survival at stake, Ejiogu and his teammates are calling on supporters to stand by them in a bid to secure NPFL status for next season.
