The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos state has received the final batch of permanent voter cards for the state from the national headquarters, ahead of the general election on February 25, March 11, 2023.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Olusegun Agbaje, announced that Lagos State now has a total of 7 million registered voters after 451,156 new registrants in the Continuous Voters Registration exercise.
According to a statement signed by INEC’s Administrative Secretary in Lagos, Mrs Adebisi Oladepo Ajayi, for the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, the remaining PVCs will be available for collection at INEC Local Government Offices across the state from Wednesday, January 25th to Sunday, January 29th.
The Commission emphasized that PVC collection is free of charge while prohibiting collection by proxy.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission in Lagos state wishes to inform the general public, particularly registered voters in Lagos state, that the remaining PVCs for Lagos have been received,” the statement said.
PVCs will be available for collection at INEC Local Government Offices between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Wednesday, January 25th to Sunday, January 29th.
The Commission hereby requests that all eligible registrants who have not yet collected their PVCs take advantage of this opportunity before the January 29 deadline.
PVC collection is free, but proxy collection is not permitted.”
