MAN COMPLAINS POLICE HARASS HIM FOR NOT HANDING OVER HIS PHONE FOR A SEARCH, “YOU’RE MALTRATING ME.”

On Sunday, June 18, 2023, members of the Nigerian Police force’s Isashi division harassed an unnamed individual in Ojo, Lagos.

A viral video shows the man insisting that the officers were torturing him as they dragged him across the street in an effort to take his phone.

“Can you see what’s going on, they are maltrating me,” he said while attempting to make a phone call. The police officers, however, forbade him from placing the call.

One of the four armed policeman approached the victim and slapped him while the other three were still dragging him toward their minibus.

After that, the minibus was dragged with the unarmed man inside. Uncertainty surrounds what was done to him on the bus, although a witness can be heard saying in the video, “them go n@k£d am o.”
