A Honghuzi gang could have several hundred members who were Chinese immigrants, preferred robbery to hard work and seeked easy money.

Neither Russia nor China could defeat them. Also the Honghuzi took part in crucial political processes in the Far East.

The word hónghúzi translates from Chinese as “red-bearded”.

According to the most common theory, they got the name due to their habit of using fake beards for disguise.
