Max Dowman wrote his name into football history after becoming the youngest player to start a Premier League match on Sunday. The talented Arsenal winger, aged just 16 years and 144 days, featured against Crystal Palace on the final day of the season as the newly crowned champions celebrated another major moment.

The teenager has enjoyed a stunning breakthrough campaign for Arsenal. Earlier in March, Dowman became the league’s youngest-ever goalscorer when he came off the bench to score a dramatic stoppage-time goal in a 2-0 victory over Everton. That memorable strike quickly placed him among the brightest young talents in English football.

Dowman also broke another major record this season in the Champions League. At only 15 years and 308 days old, he became the youngest player ever to appear in the competition after entering as a second-half substitute against Slavia Prague in November.

Despite his rapid rise in professional football, Dowman still attends school. Due to Premier League regulations involving players under 18, the youngster must prepare separately from Arsenal’s senior squad before matches and training sessions. He changes into his kit in a different dressing room from the senior players.

The historic afternoon became even more special as Arsenal prepared to lift the Premier League trophy following the clash with Crystal Palace, adding another unforgettable chapter to Dowman’s remarkable season.

Could Max Dowman become Arsenal’s next global football superstar?
