By Eppe Franklyne| Governor Peter Mbah has rewarded the players, coaches and management of Rangers International FC with cash gifts and plots of land following the club’s triumph in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

During a dinner reception held at the Government House in Enugu, the governor announced a total reward package of N150 million, comprising N100 million for the players and N50 million for the technical crew and management team. He also approved a plot of land for each player, while additional plots were allocated to key club officials, including the General Manager, Head Coach, Secretary and Assistant Coach.

The rewards came after Rangers International FC secured their ninth NPFL title, equalling the league record, with a 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City Boys on May 24, 2026. The success marked the club’s second league triumph in three years under the Mbah administration.

Speaking at the event, Mbah described Rangers International FC as more than a football club, calling it a symbol of resilience, unity and hope for the people of Enugu State. He praised the players, coaching staff and management for their dedication, discipline and commitment throughout the campaign.

The governor also assured the club of continued support, revealing that renovation work at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium would be completed to international standards ahead of the team’s continental engagements. He further pledged sustained investment in sports infrastructure and development across the state.

Rangers General Manager Amobi Ezeaku thanked the governor for his unwavering backing, noting that the club had enjoyed one of its most successful periods under his leadership. He highlighted the achievement of winning two league titles within three years and expressed confidence that Rangers International FC could challenge for the CAF Champions League with continued support and strategic investment.
