Lionel Messi’s personal bodyguard has been banned from coming near the Argentine star for the rest of the Leagues Cup after an incident of improper conduct.

Tournament organisers confirmed that the decision was taken to maintain order and ensure that all security measures remain in the hands of official personnel.

Messi, who is starring for Inter Miami in the competition, will now be protected solely by the club’s and stadium’s regular security team for the remainder of the tournament.
