Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur will face off in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, pitting the 2024–25 UEFA Champions League winners against the Europa League champions in a one-off tie for early-season silverware.

The match will be played at the Stadio Friuli in Udine, Italy. PSG, fresh from a treble-winning campaign, will be eager to bounce back from their Club World Cup final defeat to Chelsea. However, they will be without star goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who left the club after a falling-out. Lucas Chevalier is set to deputise in goal.

Tottenham, under new manager Thomas Frank, are making their first-ever Super Cup appearance after ending a 17-year wait for a trophy by beating Manchester United in the Europa League final. However, they will be without key attackers James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski through injury, as well as long-time talisman Son Heung-min, who has joined LAFC.

While PSG have only just resumed training after their extended 2024–25 season, Spurs have enjoyed a busy pre-season schedule, playing Arsenal and Bayern Munich, which could give them a match-fitness advantage.

Predicted Line-ups:

PSG (4-3-3): Chevalier; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Vitinha, Zaïre-Emery, Fabián; Doué, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia.

Tottenham (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Bentancur, Palhinha, Sarr; Johnson, Richarlison, Kudus.
