MISCHIEF-MAKERS BEWARE: DSS OPERATIONS SHOULDN’T BE POLITICIZED. THE OSUN MONARCH

Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, the Olowu of Kuta, has issued a warning against politicizing the work of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The monarch stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the authority to select whoever he wants to collaborate with, but he urged individuals looking to stir up trouble to refrain from making unfounded charges that could compromise the credibility of the agency’s officers and employees.

The monarch of Osun State made the statement on Sunday in response to reports that Yusuf Bichi, the director general of the DSS, had reportedly embezzled some money.

Oba Makama criticized the rumors, calling them baseless and absurd.

It is well known that while the DSS provides important services, its pay and benefits fall outside the purview of federal servants.

It is also evident that the fake news spreaders want to drive a wedge between the police and the DG.

“The President has the right to select his collaborators for the DSS DG role, and he can change his mind at any point,” the Daily Post cited the monarch as stating.

He went on to say that more than ever, national security should come first.
Oba Makama asked individuals spreading misinformation to stop right once, even as he urged Nigerians to show their patriotism in order to tackle the nation’s various issues.
