The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters was set on fire at Iyana Mortuary in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, by some alleged hoodlums.

Around eight hoodlums stormed the outer fence, jumped inside, and set fire to the INEC building from the back.
They allegedly drenched bread loaves in gasoline and tossed them into the building from different angles in order to light the INEC office.

Azeez Hamzat, the facility’s security guard, is said to have called the police in a distress call at around one in the morning to report that the building was on fire. According to reports, the police from the Ibara division called for f#re fighters to rush to the location and put out the f#re while also mobilizing detectives to the spot.
The store, the office of the Registration Area Officer, and the conference room were reportedly damaged by the blaze.
