In a revealing new interview on Wazobia TV, iconic Nigerian musician 2Baba shared his perspective on the nation’s evolving political landscape and his personal mission for the future. During the conversation, the host pointed out the striking relevance of the singer’s classic track, “E Be Like Say,” noting that the social and political issues highlighted in the song years ago appear to be resurfacing in the current election cycle. Despite these observations, the music legend offered a more optimistic outlook, asserting that the country is actually in a better position than it was many years ago.
When questioned about a potential move into formal politics, 2Baba clarified his stance on how he intends to influence change. He explained that while he has previously been involved in campaigns that required him to remain neutral and non-participatory, he does not have immediate plans to run for office. Instead, he expressed a desire to continue his advocacy in a private, personal capacity. “I will set up my own position and try to make a difference,” he noted, emphasizing that he prefers to work from a space where he knows exactly where he stands.
The singer, formerly known as 2Face Idibia, further surprised fans by announcing a new title he has bestowed upon himself. He stated that he has officially taken on the role of a “self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria to everywhere.” By viewing himself as a global representative of the Nigerian spirit, he aims to use his platform to project a positive image of the country on the international stage. This commitment to nation-building through art and personal influence remains a core part of his legacy as he continues to navigate the intersection of entertainment and social responsibility.
