Jolly Tavoro Nyame, the former governor of Taraba State, has stated that his time spent incarcerated in the Kuje correctional facility and hospital provided him with insightful experiences.

Speaking at a thanksgiving ceremony at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) state secretariat in Jalingo, the state capital, he vowed to improve as a leader if given another chance to lead the state.

He said that the event had taught him priceless lessons that would make him a better possible leader for the people of Taraba State.

“I learnt a lot while in Kuje Prison and in the hospital. If given another opportunity to lead the people of Taraba State, I will do better because of the experience I have gained,” Nyame affirmed.

He advised leaders to remain resilient and steadfast in the face of adversity, emphasizing the importance of faith.

Nyame, who completed just four of a fourteen-year sentence, said that his detention was brought on by political reasons.

In the midst of introspection, he gave Nigerians a message of hope and solidarity while highlighting the significance of prayer and faith for the country’s future.

Nyame shared his personal story and advised Nigerians to emphasize government programs that improve individuals’ lives, as well as to be frugal with their spending.

For his part, Rev. Isaiah Magaji Jirapiye, the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), said that those facing difficulties find encouragement in Nyame’s story and dedication to self-improvement. He emphasized that even during trying times, there is always room for introspection, development, and constructive transformation.
