If the court finds them guilty and sentences them to death, I will sign their death warrant, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule assured the family of Late Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Philip Shekwo.
This is following the apprehension of the killers of Late Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Philip Shekwo who was killed in his residence.
Fulfilling his promises he made to the family, the state governor stated the immediate employment of the daughters of the slain chairman, Zepora and Jedidah Philip-Shekwo, as a forum for them to remain focused in the pursuit of their respective endeavours.
The governor appreciated the family for the unity that has existed among them since their father was murdered by gunmen who stormed his residence last year and vowed to ensure that the killers were prosecuted.
He said, “The three killers of the late Shekwo and their informant, who are currently undergoing trial, will not be spared.
“If the court finds them guilty and sentences them to death, I will sign their death warrant. I am happy that they were caught and by the grace of God, they will not escape.”
In his welcome address, state chairman of the APC, John Mamman, said that the event was organised in honour of the late Shekwo for his contributions to the growth of the party and the state.
“The late Philip Shekwo was a team player who lived an exemplary life. He contributed so much to the progress of the party, the state and Nigeria at large,” he said.
The son of the deceased, Samuel Shekwo, who spoke on behalf of the family, thanked the state government and the APC for the efforts they had made since the death of their father.
