During a stop-and-search operation on the Lokoja-Abuja route, the National Drg Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) seized $4,880,000 and CFA57 million in suspected counterfeit notes.

According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the money was discovered aboard a commercial bus traveling from Lagos to Kano on Sunday, October 15.

“On Tuesday, October 10th, NDLEA operatives patrolling along the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway intercepted a commercial bus traveling from Lagos to Kano.”

Four million, eight hundred and eighty thousand US dollars ($4,880,000) and fifty-seven million CFA ($CFA57,000,000) that were allegedly counterfeit were found after the bus was searched.
