191 stranded Nigerians in India have been rescued by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

On Friday, December 16, 2022, an Ethiopian Airlines flight brought them to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.

A greeting team led by NEMA and other pertinent agencies welcomed them, and they were given a gift of $100 to use as transportation to their respective houses.

On behalf of the federal government, Sadiya Umar Farouq, minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management, and social development, greeted the returning citizens.

They were warned to follow the law by the Minister, who was represented by Dr. Suleiman Abubakar, a Deputy Director in the Ministry.
