The Nigeria Professional Football League’s newly assembled Interim Management Committee will be formally introduced on Friday, according to THE PREMIER NEWS.

Ibrahim Gusau, president of the Nigerian Football Federation, will inaugurate the committee after it has been assembled by Mr. Sunday Dare, minister of youth and sports development.

The IMC will be in place to “oversee the affairs of the league until a proper professional league board is put in place statutorily,” the sports ministry said in a press release announcing its composition. The ministry added that the move was “in line with the 10-year Football Masterplan as approved by President Muhammadu Buhari towards the revitalisation of the domestic league.”

On Friday at 11 a.m., the inauguration will take place at the NFF Conference Room inside the NFF Secretariat, Abuja.

The former Director-General of the Nigeria Sports Commission, Gbenga Elegbeleye, serves as the chairman of the 15-member IMC.

Paul Bassey, the chairman of Akwa United FC, will fill in for him, and Davison Owumi, the former CEO of the League Management Committee, will act as the committee’s head of operations.

Other members include Calvin Onwuka, Aliyu Adamu, Danladi Ibrahim, Mohammed Sa’idu, Poubeni Ogun, and Awalu Baba Jada. Kunle Soname, an ex-international, is another.

The Nigeria Police Force and the NFF will both have representatives on the committee, while Olumide Bamiduro will act as secretary.
