  • The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced substantial achievements in ongoing military operations, including the neutralization of numerous terrorists, rescue of over 170 kidnapped victims, and prevention of N241.2 million worth of crude oil theft across various regions.

  • Operations in the North East, including “Operation HADIN KAI,” led to the apprehension of 13 terrorists, rescue of 3 kidnapped victims, and the surrender of a significant number of terrorists and their families.

  • In the North West, “Operation FANSAN YAMMA” rescued 106 kidnapped victims in Zamfara, with an additional 32 victims released through non-kinetic engagements; a notorious terrorist and five others were also apprehended.

  • North Central operations, under “Operation SAFE HAVEN” and “Operation WHIRL STROKE,” resulted in the neutralization of extremists, rescue of 17 kidnapped victims, and arrests of key suspects, including a gunrunner and an alleged informant.

  • The South-South “Operation DELTA SAFE” dismantled 14 illegal refining sites, recovered 230,400 litres of stolen crude oil and other products, and apprehended 237 suspects, reaffirming the military’s commitment to national security and stability.

The Nigerian military has reported significant victories in its multi-pronged offensive against insecurity across the nation, spanning operations in the North East, North West, North Central, and South-South regions. Major-General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, revealed that between July 10 and July 22, troops killed numerous terrorists, rescued over 170 kidnapped individuals, and foiled oil theft valued at N241.2 million. These successes underscore the Armed Forces’ unwavering commitment to restoring peace and stability in troubled areas.

In the North East, “Operation HADIN KAI” conducted several offensive operations, leading to the apprehension of 13 terrorists, the rescue of three kidnapped victims, and the surrender of a large number of terrorists and their families. Similarly, in the North West, “Operation FANSAN YAMMA” secured the rescue of 106 kidnapped victims in Zamfara, with an additional 32 victims released through collaborative non-kinetic engagements. A notorious terrorist and five associates were also apprehended in joint operations.

The North Central region saw “Operation SAFE HAVEN” and “Operation WHIRL STROKE” neutralize extremists, rescue 17 kidnapped victims, and arrest key suspects, including a gunrunner and an alleged informant to a kidnap kingpin. In the South-South, “Operation DELTA SAFE” effectively dismantled 14 illegal refining sites, recovering 230,400 litres of stolen crude oil and other refined products, and apprehending 237 suspects involved in illegal bunkering.

These comprehensive operations highlight the Nigerian Armed Forces’ resolve to safeguard national sovereignty and security. The military affirmed its dedication to enhancing strategies and capabilities to ensure a secure and stable Nigeria for all citizens, acknowledging the resilience and cooperation of the Nigerian populace and support from partners.
