Femi Brainard, a seasoned Nollywood actor, has shared details of his life as an immigrant in the United States.

He talked about his experience moving overseas after leaving the entertainment business.

Despite being a superstar, Brainard revealed that he had to become an Uber driver in order to support his family in America.

This was said by the veteran in an interview with Teju Baby Face.

Speaking about his experience exiting the entertainment industry, Brainard bemoaned the fact that, for a celebrity, it is preferable to remain well-known in Nigeria rather than go abroad and lose one’s identity.

According to him, “As a celebrity, it’s preferable to be a prominent figure in Nigeria than to travel abroad and become unrecognized.

“I became a cab driver in America just to put food on the table. Whenever people see me, especially Nigerian passengers, they often stare at me in disbelief, wondering if I’m indeed the familiar star they recognize.

“America does not recognize your stardom, nor does it respect your celebrity.”
