Nine people have been abducted in Kogi State; they are two ladies, four men, and two female students who were traveling on Kabba-Lokoja Road.
The passengers were abducted on Saturday around 4:30 p.m. while traveling from Kabba to Lokoja for a church meeting. They were apprehended and brought into the neighboring forest.
It was learned that the deceased, who were all Jehovah Witnesses, had left Kabba’s Kingdom Hall.
Elupo Eliazer, the spouse of one of the victims, told reporters that the kidnappers had contacted the family and made demands.
“They called to demand first for N30 million but later reduced it to N2.6 million after negotiation.
“My wife and I were travelling to attend our church convention scheduled for Lokoja, but I decided to follow a different vehicle as the Toyota bus could not contain all of us, else I would have been in the car with her,” Eliazer told Vanguard.
The disabled man, Eliazer, stated that the car his wife was driving had already passed the car he was in.
But by the time his car reached the spot, the bus’s occupants had all been led into the jungle. He added that they had received threats from the kidnappers not to call the authorities.
