Nkechi Blessing Secures Arrest of Woman Who Secretly Took Gym Photo to Body-Shame Her

Popular Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has confirmed the arrest of a woman who secretly photographed her during a workout session at a Lagos gym.

The viral picture, which captured the actress exercising, triggered waves of online backlash, with many social media users body-shaming her. The actress had earlier defended herself, insisting she visits the gym to stay fit and healthy—not to compete on a runway.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Blessing—who became emotional during the interview—condemned the constant ridicule she faces over her natural body.

Announcing the woman’s arrest, she accused the gym member of deliberately taking her photo without consent and circulating it to mock her appearance. She also claimed the gym management initially shielded the woman’s identity before she eventually tracked her down.

“I wear clothes that make me comfortable. You get BBL and you dey snap me that has a natural body. Are you stupid? iFitness hid her information, but I found her and got her arrested,” she said.

The actress maintained that she will continue challenging body-shaming and protecting her privacy.
