Omale Omale: Benue APC rejects alleged expulsion of former commissioner

The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected reports that Omale Omale, a former Commissioner for Power and Transport, has been expelled from the party.

The party described the report as fake and said unknown individuals had falsely claimed to be executives of Iga-Okpaya Ward in Apa Local Government Area.

In a statement issued on Monday, the APC Publicity Secretary, Daniel Ihomun, said the party did not recognise the alleged expulsion.

He said the party had “categorically disowned” the purported suspension and maintained that Omale Omale remained a member of the APC.

According to Mr Ihomun, Omale is a founding member of the APC in Benue State. He also described him as an important stakeholder in the Benue South Senatorial District.

The publicity secretary further said Omale previously served on the APC State Executive Committee in Benue State.

He served as the party’s State Legal Officer during his time on the committee.

The statement comes amid growing political activity within parties across Benue State. Therefore, claims about the status of prominent party members can quickly attract public attention.

However, the Benue APC has now drawn a clear line between the party and the alleged ward-level action.

It also warned against relying on unverified statements from individuals claiming to speak for the party.

The development means that, based on the APC’s latest statement, Omale Omale remains recognised by the party as a member and stakeholder.

The party’s position could also help clarify the situation for supporters and other political actors in Apa and Benue South.
