Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, an All Progressives Congress candidate for governor in Delta State, has promised to pay the 13th month’s salary to all state employees if he wins the election on March 18.

During an interactive session with civil servants on Monday in Asaba, the state capital, Omo-Agege provided the guarantee, saying: “For our civil servants, I want you to view me as a partner. I shall keep an eye on you. My government will keep an eye on you.

“Instead of N10,000, I’ll give you your wage for the 13th month. We will also give you access to training and retraining. I’m making these concessions because if I were to be elected governor, I would want the best possible civil service.

“I want you to give your all in the civil service. During working hours, we wouldn’t want you conducting any personal business. We would prefer that you focus on your work. I need your help by getting your vote because I can’t accomplish it alone.

“We will pay out all of those outstanding promotion arrears within six months of my taking office as governor, and you will thereafter be paid when due. We will pay all past-due pensions within six months, and beyond that, we will make payments as they become due.

Omo-Agege continued by lamenting the exorbitant expense of living in Asaba and promising to start building residences for state employees. He also said that if elected, his administration will grant advantages for training and retraining to employees.

If elected, he pledged to handle the state’s resources in a fair, just, and equal manner while tackling issues like unemployment, insufficient power, and insecurity, among others.

“I shall be fair, just, and equitable in the handling of the state’s resources,” Omo-Agege declared.

“No senatorial district or ethnic group will be discriminated against because of that group’s ethnicity. We are all citizens of Delta and are on an equal footing.

“We shall all be compensated fairly, justly, and equally. The state will provide sufficient resources for development in each region. No senatorial district will suffer as a result of my rise.
