One person is killed and seven others are hurt in a single accident in Niger.

One person was declared dead and seven others injured in a single accident that happened on Monday in the Niger town of Lanle Shebe, Lavun Local Government Area.

The accident happened on Monday about 13:45, according to Mr. Kuwar Tsukwam, state sector commander of the corps, who confirmed the event to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Tuesday.

According to Tsukwam, the collision involved a commercial bus operated by Sharon with the license plate NBS 854 AA that was traveling from New Bussa to Bida.

“The accident affected eight people; one of them passed away, while seven others were hurt.

“The vehicle involved was handed over to the police in Kutigi for additional investigation,” he said. “The corpse of the dead person and the injured victims were transferred to Kutigi General Hospital.”

Tsukwam attributed the collision to speeding and asked drivers to always adhere to speed restrictions to prevent collisions.
