Ooni of Ife marries his fourth wife and plans to wed two more women.

The fourth wife of the Ooni of Ife, Princess Ashley Adegoke, was wed by Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

As a longtime concubine of the queen, Princess Ashley reportedly considers this to be a dream come true. Ashely no longer holds the title of princess as of Friday, October 14 because she now bears the title of queen. The royal wedding and marriage ceremonies took place in Ile Ife, Osun State.

Similar to Queen Tobi Phillips’ wedding, the Ooni was not present at the nuptials. To speak for him were his leaders, the royal guards, and the royal staff. The King would wed Princess Ashley as his fourth wife, as he had three other brides who he wed within a two-month period.

Ooni welcomed Queen Mariam into his palace as his first wife in September. After his first marriage, in Magodo, Lagos, Queen Elizabeth Ogunwusi and he were engaged. On October 9, 2022, Tobi Phillips became the monarch’s third queen.
