  • Caution follows Supreme Court verdict backing Amaewhule-led faction
  • Urge lawmakers to await legal resolution before issuing directives
  • Ikenga Ugochinyere insists on due process in legislative matters

A coalition of opposition lawmakers has cautioned members of the Rivers State House of Assembly against issuing directives to Governor Siminalayi Fubara until the controversy surrounding their defection is legally resolved.

The warning comes just days after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the faction led by Martin Amaewhule, granting them the authority to resume legislative functions.

Speaking on behalf of the coalition, spokesperson Ikenga Ugochinyere stressed that the lawmakers must exercise restraint, noting that any directive from them remains questionable until the legitimacy of their defection is determined by the courts.
