Kun Khalifat FC head coach, Emmanuel Osigwe, has disclosed plans to strengthen the Umuahia-based side with experienced players during the mid-season transfer window, as the club seeks to improve results and overall performance.

Osigwe said the proposed signings would provide leadership and raise the competitive standard within the squad, particularly among the young players.

The coach admitted that Kun Khalifat struggled in their most recent outing, a 1–0 home defeat to Abia Warriors at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday, a result he described as a clear indication of the team’s need for reinforcement.

He explained that discussions would be held with the club’s proprietor to address the gaps in the squad.

“We need good players, not amateur players,” Osigwe said. “We need professional players who have played in the league—two or three experienced players—to strengthen the team.”

Kun Khalifat FC are expected to move decisively in the transfer market as they aim to stabilise performances and improve their standing in the league.
